Hi! My name is Matias (He/Him) and I am a GM from Argentina.
Growing up, I was mesmerized by how the shows and games I grew up with could make me feel so many different emotions about the characters in them using the right combination of the right words, atmosphere, and imagery. After discovering Dungeons & Dragons and running a few games, I came to realize that I could make others feel those same feelings I felt as a kid through the stories told at my table.
My tables focus very heavily on story, narration, and roleplay.
Make no mistake, I am a fan of seeing a dozen dice go off at the same time when a well-rolled critical strike comes up, seeing parties collectively wince when the monsters roll high, but that is not where the charm of D&D comes from in my opinion.
All the dice rolled, every attack and spell that lands or doesn't, is meaningless without the story holding it all together. The final blow to the tyrannical dragon will never mean as much without the personal feelings of the characters who lost their families and with resolute feelings made the journey to take revenge or safeguard others from that same fate. The goal ultimately is building the narrative foundation of the campaign and aiding its growth, eventually culminating in a satisfying resolution of my players’ dreams and goals for their characters.
